Pottery by Assefa

Assefa Kebede is a self-taught potter that has taken a few courses from Emily Carr College of Art and local community centers. His work is influenced by the pottery from many parts of the world, in particular, from his roots in Africa. Lately, he has been working on functional pottery from Africa. These include the Tagines from Morocco and serving pots from Ethiopia. His inspiration comes from observing the processes of nature such as wind, gravity and erosion.
